There are statistics that show a lot of challenges in online education and this is why this section of our association’s website will provide you with some tips and strategies so we can all get better at this.
We will focus here on:
VATS resources for remote learning and some adds on from national and international counterparts to support your proactive in this online venture. Please, be self-aware of your capacity. We all have varied skills, you do have skills!

We would highly recommend you to check the following two videos in order to breath a little bit and make sure that you are self-aware and self-regulated on your moving-to-elearning journey:
Learning to Learn Online 21’. Kathryn Murphy-Judy (Virginia Commonwealth University) provides advice to help postsecondary learners get the most out of their current reality of learning remotely.
How to move online in a Hurry 25’. Christopher Hromalik, Onondaga Community College (NY), provides reassurance to take the pressure off yourself and think of these first weeks as creating emergency sub plans: likely not your best teaching, but definitely helpful and comforting to your students to keep the learning happening. Each week, students and instructors alike will improve and can start to use more technologies to teach online in more effective ways.

1. Moving to e-learning: contains step-by-step instructions on how to set up the following digital resources and how to communicate with your students and families access to learning.
a) GOOGLE CLASSROOM for teaching and learning planning (assessment and tracking of student learning progress); and,
b) Zoom for classroom-like interactions, guided learning and explicit teaching.
2. Tools and strategies for remote learning contains advice to kick start your online learning program, considerations for effective student-centered practices, resources to be selected strategically in order to develop modes of communication, ideas to promote the SEL curriculum online within our language programs and more resources!
